Restaurant Week is synonymous with the very finest in dining experience. And last Monday night, Restaurant Week Ambassador recording artiste Romain Virgo spiced things up at JoJo's Jerk Pit and More.

The dapper 'Love Doctor' himself walked in with his 'patient' partner, the beautiful Elizabeth Blagrove, and accepted the mouth-watering mission of partaking in savoury and sweet indulgence.

Known for its rustic charm, further chilled by a relaxing atmosphere, the semi-outdoor restaurant remained true to fulfilling form, but stepped it a notch by offering a fiesta of flavour, teasing and pleasing your gastronomic senses one scrumptious bite at a time.

The culinary captain, Anna Chin, took us on a tantalising three course cruise. Our first stop was the appetisers: crispy shrimp fritters with Jo Jo's hot tartar sauce and spinach, melon and feta cheese salad with a pomegranate vinaigrette dressing. The fritters were good, according to Blagrove - a little different from what she is accustomed to but rich in flavour. The spinach and melon salad surprised Virgo, playing a palatable part in opening his appetite for more.

By our second stop, the main course, Blagrove opted for the Louisiana Creole shrimp stuffed with crab, served with pumpkin quinoa and fried okras.

"I don't usually like quinoa, but I like this! I was a little fearful of the dish at first, but it's nice! I love it."

RIGHT BALANCE

The creaminess and vegetables from the Tuscan chicken breast pasta in a creamy sauce with spinach and sun-dried tomatoes provided a right balance for Virgo's taste buds.

"I love chicken breast so that made it even more enticing," he said.

Both dishes were paired with the glasses of Woodbridge Pinot Grigio wine. And onlookers couldn't help but gaze in admiration, as smooth operators Virgo and Blagrove dished out relationship goals while lovingly feeding each other.

It was then smooth sailing all the way to dessert. The choice was easy. The show stopping Klondike cupcake chocolate covered ice cream, topped with chocolate cake, pistachios and June plum compote received a verbal 'round of applause' for varying bursts of flavour. The option of drunken bread pudding with caramel rum sauce will be sure to tip the spirit scale and have you in a state of euphoria so enjoy responsibly.

Once the cruise was over, first-time diners Virgo and Blagrove expressed sincere delight in the overall tour and they look forward to visiting JoJo's Jerk Pit & More again soon.
